Matthew R. Goetz is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education. He studied Trombone with Mark L. Lusk, conducting with Dennis Glocke, and Dr. Douglas Miller and orchestration with award winning composer Bruce Trinkley. Matthew was a performing member with the Penn State Trombone Choir, Symphonic Band and Outer Dimensions Jazz ensemble.
Matthew has been featured as a trombone soloist, conductor and arranger with the Penn Sate Trombone Choir as well as soloist at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Nescopack, PA. Currently Matthew is the Band Director at Garfield High School in Garfield, NJ. A veteran teacher, Matthew has held teaching positions at all grade levels (K-12). Matthew is a former Board of Trustees and founding member of the Penn State School of Music Affiliate Program Group. This group is a service organization for alumni of the Penn State School of Music. Matthew has performed with the Westwood Community Band, as a trombonist with several high school musical productions and he performs regularly with the Ridgewood Concert Band which has been noted as one of the finest community bands in the United States. |
